Year 8 muralists make ceramic tile paintings for the mural
First day of artist in residence program with year 8 students. We spent a lesson discussing the project and how the mural will be made. In the afternoon the students painted a creature onto a tile for the rainbow.
We also began making some letters for the text that will go in the mural. The students used a plaster mould of letters cast from a chocolate mould. They pushed the clay in and them gently pulled it back out with a fork.
Have a look at what they did!
