more artworks out of the kiln

Here are some more of the artworks that have come out of the kiln. We have made four hundred native Victorian creatures so far, for our Noah's Ark mural. And we have also made trees and flowers and leaves. Below there are some of our lovely callistemon flowers (commonly known as banksia) and some of the tiles that have come out with creatures painted onto them. Also there is a glimpse of the immense process of glazing the works and sorting them into boxes ready for the mosaicing process. So here is just a glimpse!

Prep C make gumleaves

Prep C made a lot of gumleaves (I forgot to photograph them all for you). They were highly industrious and made six trays of gumleaves. The painting was amazing! Beautiful patterns and colours which will look amazing when they are fired and glazed. We were also helped by the two mums Emma and Valerie. What would we have done without you!!!! Thanks for your help with the gum leaves Prep C. Noah's Ark Mural The Noah's Ark Mural at Overnewton Anglican Community College is a ceramic mural that is being made by the artist Debbie Qadri with students at the Keilor Campus. All of the children from the Junior school as well as year 5's and some of the year 8's will be making a ceramic artwork to go into the mural. The mural design is a Noah’s Ark scene with the animals coming out of the Ark but set in the Keilor Valley. All of the animals in the scene will be native animals of Victoria

3s make birds for the trees!

Grade 3S worked with Maria, Ms Zaghis and Debbie to make birds for the mural. Some of the birds are flying and most will rest in the trees that the preps and year 1 students made. Look at these gorgeous birds! 1 S make a yellow box tree

Grade 1S made some ceramic artworks for our Yellow Box, which is a type of gum tree. We had to work on making branches, leaves and the little yellowbox flowers. Everyone set to work and this is our result! Prep MK make gum leaves!

Here are the fabulous gumleaves that Prep MK made today. We made them out of clay for our Noah's Ark mural. We made the leaves textured by rolling leaves into the clay.
